The Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation revealed that the third and fourth rounds of the seventh season (2020/2021), which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the traditional governorate of Ad-Dir'iyah on February 26th and 27th, will be held at night for the first time in the history of the race.
Formula E confirmed that Ad-Dir'iyah track will be lighted by with low consumption LED technology powered by fully renewable energy. Lighting the track with the latest low consumption LED technology will reduce energy consumption by up to fifty per cent compared to non-LED technologies. The remaining energy needed to power the floodlighting will be fully renewable provided by high performing low-carbon certified hydrogenated vegetable oil made from sustainable materials.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is on a journey of embracing renewable energy and technology, and Formula E is more than just a race to be the best, it’s a partnership committed to the future of sustainable technology”.
It is noteworthy that the seventh season of the championship will start with two rounds from Santiago, Chile, on January 16th and 17th, 2021, and then the championship will go directly from there to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with two consecutive races in Ad Diriyah on February 26th and 27th , 2021, at 20:00 pm.
